After delays due to a certain someone
‘s ongoing legal troubles/perpetual spiral of insufferable behavior, Ariana Grande
and Chris Brown
‘s “Don’t Be Gone Too Long”
had been delayed
. But not for too long, it seems. While Breezy is currently behind bars awaiting trial stemming from assault charges, his camp released a video preview of the duet.
The visual shows a backlit Breezy dancing to the song’s robo-pop beat, and the only vocals come in on the chorus, with Ariana and Chris singing, “Don’t be gone too long, tell me who’s gonna love me when you’re gone?”
Still no word on when the song will be released. Brown’s album X is scheduled for a May 5 release, but we’ll hold off until May 5 before making a final call on that. Check it out below. More »

Puerto Rican rapper Wisin
served up one of the best party anthems of 2014 with infectious Ricky Martin
and Jennifer Lopez
. He delivers more of the same rambunctious Latin-insuded pop on El Regreso Del Sobreviviente
album track “Control”, which features the talents of Pitbull
and Chris Brown
“I’m the most loved and the most hated,” confesses Mr. Worldwide in the intro before Wisin does his thing over cascading synths and furious beats. Then it’s Breezy’s turn to show off and he delivers an enjoyable verse full of epic cliches like “let’s live life on the wild side, we can jump off a plane!” Listen to the (not so) guilty pleasure after the jump. and Ariana Grande
‘s unlikely duet “Don’t Be Gone Too Long”
has been postponed due to Breezy’s incarceration
. The troubled R&B star (or someone in his team) launched a countdown to the single’s original release date (March 24) over the weekend but Ari stepped in today (March 17) to let everyone know that it won’t be happening.
“My loves… so obviously some things have changed recently,” the 20-year-old tweeted. “So we have to delay the dbgtl countdown… some things are out of our control.” Amusingly, one of Ariana’s confused fans pressed her for further information and she had to diplomatically spell it out: “My duet partner isn’t available at the moment to put the song out with me.” See her tweets after the jump. Today, March 17, is St. Patrick’s Day, which means you should expect green beer, loud, party-ready people shouting in the streets and possibly a Shamrock Shake in your immediate future. But before you head off to the pub or the parade, we thought we’d help set the mood early in the day with a nice holiday-themed playlist.
We rounded up 17 green, golden, lucky and rainbow-filled songs to properly sound-track your St. Patty’s Day. (Did we miss any other cliches, readers? No, no — we already have “Top O’ The Mornin’” taken care of, silly.) Head below to get an earful of pop gold! More »
will spend tonight in jail. In fact, the R&B star could be there for quite a while after violating a judge’s order by being thrown out of rehab. He was given his marching orders from the Malibu facility earlier today (March 14) for breaking “internal rules”. Apparently it had nothing to do with violence or drugs.
These events come after a judge ordered Breezy to spend an additional two months in rehab — after completing a 90 day stint working on anger management issues as part of his deal for assaulting Rihanna — until a different assault charge had been heard in Washington D.C.. The deal was simple. If Chris left rehab, he would go straight to jail. I guess this means X will be postponed for even longer? More »
surprised everyone last week by updating her Instagram with a photo from the set of a video shoot
with Chris Brown
. Well, the most unlikely duet of 2014 finally has a name. It’s called “Don’t Be Gone Too Long” — according to Breezy’s ‘celebrity’ barber. A highly credible source, I know!
Only, the title appears to have been confirmed by members of Ariana’s camp. They also shared more images from the top-secret (but not really) shoot, which Joseph Labisi is directing. (He previously helmed Zendaya‘s “Replay” and Jason Derulo‘s “Stupid Love” among other hot videos). See all the pics after the jump. More »
A judge ordered Chris Brown
on February 28 to stay for two more months in rehab at a Malibu treatment center. Brown had entered
the drug rehab and anger management program in January, but must be tried on an assault charge
(that violated his probation for the Rihanna
assault) in Washington, D.C. first. The judge will then decide whether Brown can leave or should be jailed.
CNN reports that the R&B singer appeared disappointed but reacted calmly to the decision, by closing his eyes and meditating for about five minutes. Following the hearing, he tweeted, “Never really goes the way u plan. #LIFE.” So far, Brown has resisted staying in rehab for long, but with little success. More »
raised a lot of eyebrows when she shared a photo of her dancing — rather intimately — with Chris Brown
on Instagram this morning (February 28). That lead to speculation the “Baby I”
diva had recorded a duet Breezy, suspicions that were confirmed by a later post in which she mentions a video shoot.
On the surface this seems to be an odd pairing but it’s actually quite clever. Ariana really needs to shed her Disney princess persona for album number two and Chris could rehabilitate his image (and career) by working with a wholesome starlet. It’s win/win for both of them. And the song could be great if sounds a little something like Breezy’s recent duet with Sevyn “It Won’t Stop”. See Ari’s Insta-updates after the jump. More »
