Raise One Finger In The Air
It’s been a big week for Demi Lovato. The diva’s fourth studio LP Demi turned one and Hollywood Records celebrated its first birthday (or Demiversary) by temporarily discounting the album and announcing Cher Lloyd collaboration “Really Don’t Care” as the fourth single. As a result, the hit-filled set returned to the top 5 on iTunes.

The lyric video for “Really Don’t Care” dropped today (May 14) and it stars Demi’s fiercely loyal fans. They sing along to the catchy song while the “Neon Lights” singer lurks mischievously in the background, waiting to prank them. There’s also some footage from the 21-year-old’s blockbuster world tour and some backstage action. Watch up top. More »

Demi Lovato’s One-Year ‘Demiversary’ Is A Raging Success, Album Returns To iTunes Top 5

A full year has passed since Demi Lovato rocked the pop music world with 4th studio album Demi. Hollywood Records celebrated the LP’s first birthday by announcing a new version of “Really Don’t Care” as the next single and offering fans a special discount. And so far Operation Demiversary has been a great success. The opus is currently sitting pretty in the iTunes top 5.

It’s great to see the Disney diva’s most consistent and cohesive effort getting so much love. Demi has already produced three hit singles — “Heart Attack”, “Made In The USA” and “Neon Lights” — and spawned a blockbuster world tour. With another catchy jam headed to radio in the very near future, the LP still has a lot of life left in it. Listen to Demi’s latest after the jump. More »

Jennifer Lopez Becomes The First Woman To Receive Billboard’s Icon Award: Morning Mix

Did You Hear?

:: Jennifer Lopez will be honored with the Icon Award at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. She is only the fourth recipient and first woman to nab the prize. The stunning diva will also perform new single “First Love” at the event on May 18. [Rap-Up]

:: In news that will surprise absolutely no one, Kylie Minogue would really like to record a duet with Madonna. She said as much in a Reddit Q&A yesterday (May 5), so hopefully someone makes this happen ASAP. [Reddit]

:: Alanis Morissette released new music today but you won’t hear it on the radio. She wrote and released “Today” as the official campaign song for Marianne Williamson‘s run at congress. It’s actually kind of catchy for a political anthem. [MarianneForCongress]

:: Pride events in New York and Los Angeles just got a whole lot more fabulous with news that Demi Lovato will perform at the festivals in June. “I have been an active advocate of the LGBT community and am wholly committed to supporting individuality and being comfortable in one’s own skin,” said the superstar. Demi Lovato Shows Off Her Pert Butt In Cheeky Bikini Selfie

When you’ve got it, flaunt it! That’s the message Demi Lovato seems to be preaching in a sexy bikini selfie that landed on her Instagram account earlier this morning (May 1). “When in Brazil,” wrote the “Neon Lights” diva casually in her YOLO-themed caption. By today’s standards, the 21-year-old’s pic is positively prudish — showing just enough of the songbird’s killer curves.

It’s nice to see Demi taking a well-deserved break. When she wraps up her South American tour, the best-selling author will release the fourth single from her blockbuster Demi LP and hopefully spend some time in the studio with Ed Sheeran. For some idea of what they might sound like together, check out the excellent fan mash-up of “Give Me Love”. You’ll find the starlet’s sexy bikini post after the jump. More »

Demi Lovato Is A Blond Bombshell On The Cover Of ‘Cosmopolitan For Latinas’

Demi Lovato has been rocking pink hair for a while now, so it’s nice to see her working sexy, blond locks on the cover of Cosmopolitan For Latinas summer issue. The 21-year-old talks to the magazine about her blockbuster Neon Lights tour as well as opening up about her struggle with addiction and mental illness.

“I was used to drinking and doing drugs on my birthday,” Demi admits before adding: “But I realized that there’s so much more to life than that.” Her new favorite activities include charity work and being a role model for people suffering from mental illness. “It’s a daily thing,” “Heart Attack” diva says about her bipolar disorder. “I treat it with medication. Not everybody does that, but for me it works.” See more pics from the activist’s sexy shoot after the jump. More »

Are Demi Lovato & Ed Sheeran Eyeing A Collaboration?

Demi Lovato and Ed Sheeran have been tweeting each other about working on a song together. It began Tuesday (April 29) when Lovato tweeted out a list of her dream collaborators, which included Kelly Clarkson, Eminem, Nicki Minaj and Sheeran, among others. The British singer replied enthusiastically, saying, “Let’s write a song then!” and Lovato followed up that she’s “down” for it.

Usually, this sort of meaningless social media chatter would warrant a “hey that’s cool but wake me up when you have actual concrete news about it” response. However! Earlier today (April 30) we learned that Sheeran is working on a collaborative album with Game, and guess how that partnership started? With a Twitter conversation. So… it could happen, is what we’re saying.

Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez Win Big At Radio Disney Music Awards: See The Winners List

Ariana Grande‘s sexy Minnie Mouse debut of “Problem” was the highlight of the Radio Disney Music Awards last night (April 27), even though Grande didn’t actually win any awards at the ceremony. And if the ’90s babies’ answer to Mariah Carey doesn’t get honored, then do the Radio Disney Music Awards matter? Well, since Radio Disney is “the #1 radio network devoted to kids, tweens and families” and there’s a category called [I have to gather myself after letting out a room-collapsing sigh before typing this] “The Bestest,” and I am a grown-ass man, maybe I’m not the right person to answer that question.

That said, I’d even posit that kids, tweens and families don’t even care about the RDMAs, as a concept. But, because important names like Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears and Fifth Harmony were involved, the RDMAs must matter, by default. And so: Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Swift and One Direction were the big winners in a big celebration of white-bread pop. Check out the full list of winners below. More »

Demi Lovato’s Live Cover Of “Give Me Love” Was Mashed With Ed Sheeran’s Studio Version: Listen

Demi Lovato wowed fans with an impressive cover of Ed Sheeran‘s bleak ballad “Give Me Love” at her iHeartRadio Live gig in Los Angeles on Monday, April 14. It was only a matter of time before a tech-savvy fan mashed the Disney diva’s pretty version with the Brit’s original but the finished product is even better than expected.

These two need to collaborate as soon as possible. (Surely it’s not too late to add a track to X?) Demi and Ed’s voiced blend beautifully with each other and the hobby DJ that pulled this together does a great job at making the imaginary duet believable. Listen to the “Neon Lights” diva — kind of — join forces with pop’s favorite redhead after the jump. More »

‘American Idol’ Recap: Jena Irene, Alex Preston & C.J. Harris Get High Marks, Demi Lovato Is A Guest Judge

After bidding a tearful farewell (on my part at least) to Malaya Watson, only seven contestants are left. And since Malaya was clearly my favorite, I’m struggling to figure out who of the remaining finalists deserve my love and support. This week’s theme is Competitor’s Pick, meaning that the kiddos have to select their song choice for the evening from a list compiled by their fellow six competitors. And, there are some super random guest appearances from the likes of Demi Lovato and Terry Bradshaw. More »
