Nicki Minaj Strikes A Grammy Pose With LL Cool J

LL Cool J appears to be having a much less aggravating time with blonde-wigged Nicki Minaj in these Grammy promo pics than he did with blonde-haired Taylor Swift in their commercials for music’s big night. Of course, in real life, Taylor and Nicki are thick as thieves, and LL and the “Mean” singer are probably just as tight. Wonder if buddying up to the ceremony’s host will help the Harajuku Barbie score any of the three awards she’s up for? Ponder that while peeking at another photo of Minaj below.

Taylor Swift And LL Cool J Can’t Seem To Get Along In Grammy Promos

In their joint Grammy promo ads, nominee Taylor Swift and host LL Cool J are all about dissing each other. Umbrella aficionado Tay expresses her excitement over the awards and the once-in-a-lifetime performances during one of the short clips, and LL assumes she might also be excited about him taking on hosting duties. “There’s a host?” she asks. “Awkward.” Oh, you two. LL Cool J To Be First Grammy Host In Seven Years

The Grammy Awards haven’t had a host since Queen Latifah took up the chore in 2004 —  and those are some mighty diva-sized shoes to fill. But the RIAA feels that LL Cool J is up to the challenge. After all, the pioneering MC cut his teeth by hosting The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! every year from the get-go, in 2008. “I’m thrilled to be part of Music’s Biggest Night,” said LL Cool J in a statement. “I will always have fond memories of my first GRAMMY Awards and to now be hosting the GRAMMY show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true. Great performances and great music — it’s gonna be a great night!” [Grammy.org] More »

Nicki Minaj, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift & Jason Aldean To Perform At Grammys

While rumor has it (ba-zing!) that Adele will open the upcoming Grammy Awards, there are, at least, a few actual confirmed performers on the roster for the show. Both Nicki Minaj and Jason Aldean are scheduled to make their Grammy singing debuts during the ceremony, which will be broadcast live on February 12. Each of them are up for statues — Nicki, most notably for Best New Artist, Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance — and each have been big winners at other awards shows over the past year.

Adele Reportedly In Talks To Perform At The Grammys

Is Adele planning to end her silence, post-throat surgery, at next month’s Grammy Awards? RadarOnline.com is not only reporting that the “Set Fire To The Rain” songbird is planning on attending the Grammys, she’s also in talks to sing at the event.

Kanye West’s Two-Hour Twitter Babble: Donda, Grammys, Fashion & ‘The Jetsons’

We’re as fascinated by Kanye West as the next chap. But last night the throne watcher pushed his fingers’ limits by typing out a stream-of-conscious rant on Twitter for two hours, and it’s got us scratching our noggins over just how one of the busiest artists in the world simply found the time for this. Anyway, at the crux of his lengthy tweet sesh was ‘Ye’s revelation that he’s starting a design firm called Donda. And working on the Jetsons movie. Or something. Read on!

8 Grammy Nomination Snubs: From Britney & Beyonce To Taylor & Dr. Luke

In 2010, Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream — an unashamedly-bubblegum album executive-produced by pop maestros Dr. Luke and Max Martin — scored the California gurl an Album Of The Year Grammy nomination, not to mention nods for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (for the LP’s title song). And this year, pop veteran Britney Spears and her latest album Femme Fatale — another hit-laden bubblegum offering (though not nearly as hit-laden as Perry’s) helmed by Luke and Martin — got zero Grammy love when nominees were announced last night. But Brit was hardly the only one snubbed this year by the National Academy Of Recording Arts And Sciences!

Lady Gaga, Sugarland, Jason Aldean & Rihanna Highlight Grammy Concert
