:: Iggy Azalea revealed that she was diagnosed with TMJ on Twitter yesterday (December 31). The muscular disorder causes jaw pain and is brought on by stress — at least according to the femcee. The multiple Grammy nominee also announced that she has started work on her second album. [Twitter]
:: Season 14 of American Idol is just around the corner. Jennifer Lopez posted a couple of behind-the-scenes pics on Instagram and is looking typically flawless. The talent show has suffered from falling ratings over the past few years, but if anyone can turn things around, it’s J.Lo. [Instagram]
:: Nicki Minaj opens up about getting an abortion as a teenager in her Rolling Stone cover story. “It was the hardest thing I’d ever gone through,” she says of the ordeal, which she also references on her new LP The Pinkprint. [Billboard]
:: Well, this has to be a first. Chris Brown cancelled a New Year’s Eve performance in the Philippines because — wait for it — he lost his passport. I guess that’s a polite way of saying he couldn’t be bothered flying half-way around the world for one show. [Billboard]

One hundred years from now, when pop culture historians look back on 2014, they will be astounded (or perhaps just slightly amused) by our fascination with ass. You couldn’t click on YouTube without seeing a bottom-heavy diva shake her butt, or flick through Instagram without being greeted by a boy band’s buns. The obsession even crossed over into the music itself with Nicki Minaj landing a massive hit with “Anaconda” and Jennifer Lopez racking up those video streams with Iggy Azalea-assisted club-banger, “Booty.”
What does it all mean? You could argue that we, as a society, are becoming less tolerant of slut shaming, more accepting of our bodies or simply harder to shock. Hence the more-is-more approach to self-promotion. Whatever the case may be, the class of 2014 certainly left their mark. Rihanna‘s Lui magazine spread is legendary and Kim Kardashian almost broke the internet with her Paper magazine shoot. Meanwhile, Nick Jonas kickstarted his solo career by dropping his pants. Another day, another flawless photo shoot from Jennifer Lopez. The “I Luh Ya Papi” diva recently showed off her killer curves in Self, before serving serious glamor on the cover of Latina magazine. She poses with The Boy Next Door actor Ryan Guzman (they co-star in the sexy thriller) in the stylish spread and reminds everyone that she is still/will forever be the sexiest woman on the planet.
New pics from the shoot have surfaced online and they are just as gorgeous. Jenny rocks a figure-hugging pink dress in one snap, while Ryan shows off his killer abs and tries not to drool. The “Booty” hitmaker wears a sheer dress with blue neck detail in another pic and closes her eyes as her co-star stares at her dreamily. He obviously can’t believe his luck that he not only got to make a movie with J.Lo but also got to serve as a handsome accessory in a fancy magazine. See all the pics up top. More »
Earlier this week, we wrote about A.K.A. goddess Jennifer Lopez‘s upcoming New Year’s Eve HBO special Jennifer Lopez: Dance Again, a look back at J.Lo’s incredibly successful Dance Again Tour, complete with documentary footage about the making of the tour, as well as J.Lo’s personal life. And now, there’s a sneak peek at what’s to come.
In a new trailer for the forthcoming special, the “Booty” diva makes her intentions clear: “This is my first world tour ever…I wanna sing live, I wanna dance as I’ve never done before,” she says, as we’re treated to clips of the diva’s highly energetic performances from the tour. Later on, the documentary proves to be more revelatory than just a concert special, as we see the diva breaking down into tears in her hotel room and opening up. “I remember being in my dressing room and not feeling like I could get up in the morning,” she reveals.
Coupled with behind-the-scenes footage of J.Lo and her dancers putting together the tour, as well as glimpses into the singer’s life on the road, this looks to be a pretty compelling special. Will you be tuning in? More »
Jennifer Lopez is not aging like a normal human being. In fact, it may very well be possible that the stunning A.K.A. diva is only growing younger.
The latest evidence of her eternal flawlessness? Her brand new cover and photo shoot for Self Magazine‘s January 2015 issue, unveiled on the “Booty” singer’s Instagram last night.
“Starting 2015 off right! Talking @theboynextdoormovie & @BodyLabForWomen in @SELFmagazine. #SELFMade #TheBoyNextDoor #JLoBodyLab #JLoSelfMagazine,” she wrote. The spread sees J.Lo working it out (literally!) in a few sexy white outfits, casually hanging from a beam while flaunting her ridiculously toned bod. And it sounds like she’s opening up and getting a bit more personal inside: “I’m facing my fears and working on myself,” she’s quoted as saying on the cover. It’s time for those New Years resolutions!

All good things come to those who wait! Jennifer Lopez‘s Dance Again concert documentary will make its belated debut on HBO on December 31. What better way to bring in 2015? Produced by Simon Fields, the film is said to combine live performances from the diva’s blockbuster 2012 world tour, as well as documentary footage — J.Lo apparently reflects on her “romantic happiness” — and interviews with family and friends.
The tour was absolutely spectacular, so this should be a (long-overdue) treat. The timing is also interesting. Dance Again was initially pegged for a theatrical release in 2013 (it was filmed in 3D), but that never eventuated. Instead of simply releasing the film on DVD, a high-profile HBO special is a pretty smart way of promoting the pop icon’s rumored Las Vegas residency. If it’s actually on the cards. Regardless, this will be must-see TV! More »

Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea closed the American Music Awards last night (November 23) with a jaw-dropping performance of Diplo-produced club-banger “Booty”. It was generally praised as one of the best moments of an otherwise lackluster night but the sexy spectacle obviously didn’t sit well with Sheryl Crow. The veteran singer/songwriter jumped on Twitter to ask for: “More real singing, less pole dancing please.”
She was referring to the segment where J.Lo and Iggy twirled around a stripper pole in swimsuits/leotards. While I agree with Sheryl about the singing — the whole night was littered with underwhelming vocal performances — it seems odd that she would use her platform for misguided slut-shaming. Jennifer sang live while dancing around the stage like a woman possessed and still managed to look sexy, powerful and in control. She also deserves props for being only one of two women over 40 (the other being Mary J. Blige) considered relevant enough to perform at the AMAs.
