Lately, Lil Wayne has been focusing on his music, including his next album Tha Carter V.

But on May 26, he and his Young Money signee Lil Twist took less than a minute to send a message to Justin Bieber‘s manager Scooter Braun. (Brace yourself.) “I heard this bitch ass n—- Scooter talkin’ shit about my little brother,” he said, adding, “Anything you got to say, when you see me say it to my motherfuckin’ face. Justin Bieber Teases New Song “It’s Working”: Listen

Justin Bieber teased a new song that has fans both elated and concerned. “You know exactly what you do to hurt me / It’s working, it’s working,” he sings, in a track titled “It’s Working” on his iTunes player.

Compared to recent material like the downtrodden “Hard2FaceReality,” Bieber sounds particularly anguished here. It’s a change of pace that Beliebers are particularly excited to hear, though for every ten fans who compliment him, there’s one echoes ‘dadanunes08′ – “I Wanted so much… you two together again :(”

Of course, she’s referring to when he was dating Selena Gomez, who has had an off year but now claims to be “taking my power back.” (She hasn’t specified how she’ll be doing so just yet.) And indeed, it’s hard not to hear “It’s Working” without thinking of all the young couple had been through. Hear a teaser of Bieber’s new song after the jump.  More »

Lana Del Rey Partied With Justin Bieber In Cannes

Talk about an odd couple! Lana Del Rey posed for party pics with Justin Bieber after performing at the amfAR gala in Cannes. The Ultraviolence diva treated the charity event (it raises money for AIDS research) to a stunning rendition of “Young & Beautiful” followed by a bunch of other hits. Other acts to grace the stage include Robin Thicke and Aloe Blacc.

The 27-year-old looked stunning in her vintage gown and eventually bumped into an equally sophisticated-looking Justin on the dance floor. He has been making headlines in Cannes for getting into tussles with the paparazzi and generally acting like a douche. At least he kept it cute with queen Lana. :: Now here’s an original approach to unveiling your album title and release date. Instead of sending a press release or running a countdown on social media, Jack Antonoff announced the July 15 release of Bleacher‘s (his new band) Strange Desire via a Craigslist ad. Well played. [Spin]

:: Drake Bell cemented his status as Justin Bieber‘s number one critic by tweeting about the Canadian’s latest legal woes. You might remember that the Bieber crashed Bell’s album release party a couple of weeks ago and stole the attention of his fans. [Gossip Cop]

Here’s Visual Proof That Hilary Duff And Ed Sheeran Are Working Together: Morning Mix

:: We knew it was happening but it’s still vaguely surreal to see Hilary Duff and Ed Sheeran hanging out in the studio. The odd couple is working on tunes for Hil’s much-anticipated comeback album, which is due in the fall. [Instagram]

:: This could be interesting. Morrissey, the only pop star to get into more feuds than Azealia Banks, has finally joined Twitter. Given his track record it’s only a matter of time before he gets into his first beef. [Spin]

:: Kenny Rogers recently underwent an operation to remove a cancerous growth from his face. He shared a post-op picture on Instagram and urged his fans to get checked for skin cancer. Get well soon! [Digital Spy]

Justin Bieber Investigated For Attempted Robbery

Justin Bieber has been accused of attempted robbery – over a cell phone.

According to TMZ, the incident took place at a Sherman Oaks, Calif., mini golf and batting cage park. A woman was hanging out with her 13-year-old daughter, when she spotted Bieber and his entourage at the batting cage. Bieber spotted her reaching for her cell phone, then demanded that she hand it over so that he could delete any photos she might have taken. When she refused, Bieber grabbed it from her purse. When she tried to get it back, she said that she and her daughter were only trying to say hi.

Here’s the real kicker: Allegedly, Bieber responded, “You’re humiliating yourself in front of your daughter. Why don’t you just get out of here,” causing the 13-year-old to cry. More »

The Black Keys Talk Twitter Spat With “Irresponsible Asshole” Justin Bieber

Patrick Carney, drummer of The Black Keys, calls Justin Bieber out in the latest issue of Rolling Stone. “Justin Bieber, like a fucking irresponsible asshole, sicced 40 million Twitter followers on me because I paid him a compliment he didn’t understand,” he says.

Carney was talking about how in February 2013, TMZ stopped him to ask about the Grammys. The Black Keys just won three awards, including Best Rock Album for El Camino, so naturally the outlet asks whether Bieber should feel snubbed for not scoring a nomination. “Grammys are for music, not for money, and he’s making a lot of money. He should be happy,” Carney said.

Bieber then joked on Twitter that Carney should be “slapped around,” which didn’t sit well with him even after turning his own profile into a parody account. “I’m saying that he should be grateful that he has a fucking career in music. And he shouldn’t be fucking telling his followers to slap me, and then also be doing anti-bullying bullshit. It’s so irresponsible,” Carney said. (The pop star has 51.5 million followers, nearly ten times as much as The Black Keys.) More »

Avril Lavigne’s “Hello Kitty” Gets Positive Reviews In Japan: Morning Mix

:: Katy Perry, Weird Al Yankovic and Tyler, the Creator all cover the same 1892 song for The Gay Nineties Old Tyme Music: Daisy Bell. The record was put together by Mark Ryden, the artist behind Tyler’s Wolf album artwork and a similarly surreal portrait of Perry, titled “Katy Aphrodite.” [THR]

:: Perhaps it’s for good luck: Justin Bieber walked undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather out for his winning May 2 match, after doing so in 2012. This time, Lil Wayne joined them. [Twitter]

Justin Bieber Teases Ariana Grande Duet With Photo Of The Pair In Studio

The Justin Bieber studio carousel/cyclone of destruction spins ceaselessly, this time sweeping Ariana Grande up into its spiral. Last night (May 1), while some of his pop colleagues were at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, Bieber was at home twiddling away on his social meats (which was seriously such a better use of time), and posted a photo of himself in the studio with of-the-moment diva-in-training Grande. “Congrats @arianagrande on your number 1 song,” he wrote, throwing in a major teaser by signing off with “#arianabieberduet ??”

While fans of the doe-eyed “Problem” singer may cringe at the prospect of her linking up with grizzled old Biebs, it’s pretty clear a collab between the two has potential to be killer. And since Grande has already collaborated with Chris Brown, this is actually the first time Bieber could be presented as The Sensible Alternative.

:: This is a step in the right direction as far as the rehabilitation of Justin Bieber is concerned. He jumped on Twitter to apologize for visiting a controversial war shrine in Japan. Good for him. [Digital Spy]

:: Everyone knows that Craigslist is home to its fair share of weirdos but this guy actually sounds kind of cool. A Beyonce fan gave away a signed poster of his heroine to the person who called him up and sang the best rendition of “Single Ladies”. [Billboard]
