Justin Bieber Debuts Surprise R&B Ballad “Hard2FaceReality”: Listen

Justin Bieber debuted a new song, “Hard2FaceReality,” April 26 on SoundCloud. In the ’90s-inspired R&B ballad, he and singer Poo Bear exchange wounded verses of a long-distance relationship, slowly falling apart. “Relationships over the phone, talking to your significant other all night long,” Bieber sings in the first verse.

“Hard2FaceReality” was posted to Bieber’s new SoundCloud profile, “sirbizzle.” Earlier this year, the pop star temporarily switched his Instagram handle to “bizzle,” before U.K. rapper Lethal Bizzle protested (“I guess he realized there’s only one Bizzle after all,” he said). The attempted name change, in addition to his new material, makes clear that Bieber’s trying to transition out of teen-pop status as he was in his 2013 digital-download LP Journals.

:: Madonna is being criticized by LGBT activists for calling kale “gay”. While I share the diva’s dislike for the leafy vegetable, perhaps she should choose her words more carefully given her large and loyal gay following. [Gossip Cop].

:: Someone had the genius idea of making the cast of animated movie Frozen perform the choreography to Michael Jackson‘s “Thriller”. It’s fun and slightly creepy way to waste two minutes of your day. [Pink Is The New Blog]

Justin Bieber Crashed Drake Bell’s Album Release Party And Then Dragged Him On Instagram

For someone with an increasingly battered reputation, Justin Bieber usually keeps it cute on social media. Which makes last night’s (April 17) outburst against Drake Bell all the more memorable. Sick of constant Twitter jabs from the former Drake & Josh actor, the “Confident” singer crashed his nemesis’ album release party and then documented it on Instagram.

As far as beefs go, this one is actually pretty funny. Justin pulled up outside Mixology at The Grove in Los Angeles — the venue where Drake was holding his party — and basically stole his thunder. (Not to mention the attention of his overwhelmed fans). To rub it in, Selena Gomez‘ on-again/off-again boyfriend then posted a pic of the 27-year-old peering over the balcony to find out what was going on with the caption: “Why is @justinbieber sprinter van getting more attention than my album release party.”

Justin quickly deleted the post but uploaded a video of the frankly hilarious incident with the smug comment: “So nice seeing my fans at the grove tonight.” It might sound like overkill but Drake has been baiting the troubled star for a while now with tweets about his (allegedly) fake followers and lack of talent. Selena Gomez Has A Justin Bieber-Referencing Song/Video On The Way According To Ryan Seacrest

Selena Gomez has been unusually quiet on the music front since “Slow Down” was sent to radio in August 2013. The shimmery pop perfection that is Stars Dance never got a third single despite selling well and rumors began to swirl that the 21-year-old was shopping for new management and even a new label. (The former turned out to be true, there’s still no word on the latter).

Given all these developments, fans were happily surprised when Ryan Seacrest revealed that Sel has a new song/video on the way in a recent radio segment about Kim Kardashian‘s wedding. “I saw Selena the other night and she’s got a big new song coming out and a really cool video,” he said. But here’s where it gets really interesting. “The video will get people  talking about whether or not it’s about she and Justin [Bieber]“.

Could this be a belated Stars Dance single or the lead single from Selena’s next LP? Ryan doesn’t mention Justin singing on the song, so it’s probably not their long hoped-for duet. Listen to the radio mogul spill the beans about the diva’s next move after the jump. He starts talking about Sel at the 2:35 minute mark. More »

Adam Lambert Dyed His Hair Green: Morning Mix

Did You Hear?

:: Adam Lambert joins Katy Perry as the latest pop star to dye his hair green (above) – effectively rendering seapunk irrelevant or, as he says, “Green Hair Don’t Care.” Does he pull it off? [Popdust]

:: Pharrell has talked about his surprise hit “Happy” at length before, but he has yet to cry over its success as he did on Oprah Prime. “I don’t know why I’m crying!” he said,  after host Oprah Winfrey played a clip of fans around the world dancing to the song. [Rap Radar]

:: Speaking of hits: Mac Miller debuted a few new songs at a April 12 concert in Pittsburgh, and one line stuck out to fans in particular. “I did it all without a Drake feature,” he rapped. Thoughts, Future? [MTV]

:: Jhene Aiko exacts revenge on a cheating love in her new “Comfort Inn Ending” video. She steals his jewelry and scratches his car with keys before she sets fire to it all, making for a compelling follow-up to “The Worst” while proving she can hold her own, with or without Drizzy. [Rap Radar]

:: Justin Bieber skipped the latest hearing for a high-profile incident in December 2013. Bieber is charged with assaulting a limo driver after leaving a Toronto nightclub. [Billboard]

Coachella 2014: Justin Bieber Crashed Chance The Rapper’s Set

This year’s Coachella music festival has been more star-studded than most with surprise on-stage appearances from Beyonce, Jay Z and Gwen Stefani as well as random cameos from Katy Perry, Kesha and Selena Gomez. Perhaps the latter diva’s attendance inspired on-again/off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber to crash the party.

The oft-arrested Canadian superstar joined Chance The Rapper on the main stage to perform their catchy single “Confident”. Justin rocked a black t-shirt, red bandana and white baggy shorts as he crooned the lusty slow jam and indulged in some killer choreography. He didn’t receive the warmest reception initially but might have won a couple of new fans by the end of the performance. Watch a snippet after the jump. More »

Justin Bieber Hit The Studio With Lil Wayne (Again)

Justin Bieber and Lil Wayne logged some studio time together Thursday night (April 10). Bieber posted a shadowy photo showing the two stars’ backs, with the caption, “Me and Tunechi in the studio.” Biebs and Weezy collaborated last year on JB’s completely odd alien love song “Backpack,” and OG Wayne fans are surely hoping this isn’t a case of Bieber returning the favor for The Carter V.

Bieber seems to be on a rap kick lately, as he has linked up with a bunch of rappers in the studio in recent months, including T.I., Rick Ross, Diddy, Wale and T-Pain.

Check out his two posts with his latest hip-hop foray below. More »

Jessie J Really Wants You To Know That She’s Not Bisexual: Morning Mix

:: When Jessie J first hit the scene, she described herself as bisexual. Well, that has changed. The British diva went on an extended Twitter rant emphasizing that she has only had one flirtation with a woman and now considers herself heterosexual. [E! Online]

:: In news that will no doubt make Swifties cry and shake, Taylor Swift has officially joined Tumblr. So far, she has uploaded a couple of happy snaps and a gif of her performing. Who else is excited? [Tumblr]

:: Joe Jonas believes that Justin Bieber‘s current woes were inevitable. He puts the 20-year-old’s problems down to a combination of wealth, extreme celebrity and bad parenting. Don’t hold back! [The Hollywood Reporter]

:: The Webbys are kind of like the Grammys for digital artists. So I guess it’s not that surprising that multi-media pioneers like Beyonce, Jay Z and Pharrell are among the nominees who have been rewarded for putting the internet to really good use over the past 12 months. [Billboard]

Austin Mahone Announces Debut Album ‘The Secret’ & Headlining Tour

Rising pop star Austin Mahone turns 18 today (April 4). To celebrate, he announced his debut album The Secret, out May 27, plus dates for his first-ever headlining tour. “This is for Mahomies,” he said in a statement. “Thank you for supporting me and sticking with me all this time. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate my birthday than to be able to announce new music and a huge tour for all you guys!”

The Secret will consist of just seven songs, including current single “Mmm Yeah” featuring Pitbull, plus bonus material. (Could it include a Justin Bieber collaboration? Instagram snapshots seem to hint at exactly that.) As fans await more details, they can start purchasing tickets for Mahone’s tour starting next week. Opening acts include rising UK quintet The Vamps (who opened for Taylor Swift) and The X Factor favorites Fifth Harmony.
