Ups And Downs
Kevin Rudolf is prepping his third album, and the musical multi-hyphenate is leading things off with “Here’s To Us,” an uplifting anthem about weathering this crazy storm we call life (sorry, but we’ve got rain on the brain here in NYC). Singing “Here’s to us / All our broken dreams / That never came to pass / We’re still kings and queens,” Rudolf offers up a singalong-ready track (complete with background “hey” shouts) that is ideal for some beach bonfire strumming and clapping.

The end of the video bears the slogan “Cash Money Records Established 1990: We Made It.” Despite the upbeat attitude and current success of the label, you can’t help but wonder how Weezy’s impending stint in prison—and his absence over the next year—will ultimately affect everyone involved.

Cash Money honcho Lil Wayne may have suffered various setbacks with his seventh studio album Rebirth, but that’s not keeping the other artists on the roster from remaining prolific.
