Nicole Scherzinger is coming out of the gate strong with her infectious UK summer single “Your Love,” poised to land at the very top of next week’s charts. She’s going hard with her promo game, too — from a performance on Alan Carr to milking a goat live on the radio. (Hey, whatever it takes.)
Luckily, Scherzy’s latest promotional tactic requires no manhandling of farm animals whatsoever: The former Pussycat Doll troupe leader just uploaded an acoustic rendition of “Your Love” performed on The Box, and it’s absolutely stunning.
Stripping out the heavily filters on the verses and punchy synth production of the original, Nicole powerfully croons across gentle guitars and a steady drum pulse. The live take breathes new life into the song entirely, highlighting not only Scherzy’s more than capable vocal chops, but the song’s beautiful underlying melodies. Those doo-do-do-da-doos have never sounded sweeter — this is love at first listen.

might be on a roll across the pond with her scorching summer single “Your Love,”
but the former Pussycat Doll
-dely neglected to put her latest smash on US iTunes…for now, anyway.
In a new Q&A with Digital Spy, the “Wet” chanteuse confirmed that she’s hoping to release her as-of-yet untitled studio album stateside in early 2015. “Right now, the album will be released around October in the UK. We’re looking at the US releasing next year, early in the year…but I believe the UK and maybe Europe will be this autumn,” she said.
But don’t hold your breath just yet, Killer Lovers: As you may already know, the “Puakenikeni” pop princess has had a notoriously difficult time launching stateside as a solo artist. From the scrapped Her Name Is Nicole (which is still available to pre-order on Amazon!) to Killer Love, Scherzy has yet to actually drop a full LP in America. Could a third album finally be the charm…for real this time?

Pop songstress Nicole Scherzinger
has been a very busy lady as of late. After releasing the sun-kissed video for her new House-influenced single “Your Love,”
Nicole is officially gearing up to release her highly anticipated sophomore record. So, what should people be expecting from the new disc?
“The album is a cohesive piece because I’ve worked with [Beyonce/Rihanna Producers] The-Dream and Tricky on the whole album.” Nicole reveals in a recent interview with Attitude. “Actually, ‘Your Love‘ is a bit more poppy than the other songs. The other songs are pop but they’re more urban-pop. I think we’ve finally found a Nicole sound – for the first time since the Dolls albums. Some songs are inspired by Janet Jackson’s The Velvet Rope, some songs are inspired by retro Janet, and some are inspired by early Sade. It’s a vibey album with lots of soul.” More »
‘s “Your Love”
is a definite song of the summer contender with its warm ’90s house vibe and inescapable vocal hooks. Produced by serial hitmakers The-Dream
and Tricky Stewart
, the dance anthem already has a temperature-raising, beach-themed vide
o (bikinis are worn, curves are shown) and a killer remix from Belanger
The New York-based DJ stays true to the track’s retro roots, turning “Your Love” into the best club-banger Janet Jackson never released in the ’90s. It’s got a little urban flavor and a lot of vintage house beats. Impressively, the song doesn’t completely disintegrate under the weight of its C+C Music Factory-tastic window dressing. There has certainly been no
shortage of contenders for this year’s potential Song Of The Summer 2014 — from Ariana Grande
and Iggy Azalea
to Iggy and Charli XCX
to Jason Derulo
But across the pond, two pop powerhouses — who also just happen to be former girl group starlets AND X Factor judges — served up their own contenders this week: The Pussycat Dolls‘ Nicole Scherzinger with “Your Love,” and Girls Aloud‘s Cheryl Cole with “Crazy Stupid Love.”
For this week’s Ibrawlator, we want to know: Which kind of love do (doo-doo-do-da-doo!) you prefer? Did Cheryl’s crazy stupid abs win you over? Or did Scherzy’s sultry beachside manner have you falling deeper in love? Vote below. More »
hasn’t put a foot wrong this era. “Your Love”
is a hypnotic ’90s house-infused club banger with an inescapable vocal hook (“do do do do”) and, now, a very appealing visual that finds the former PCD diva taking a stroll along the beach in a variety of skimpy outfits. It’s simple but suits The-Dream
-produced jam perfectly.
The video treatment probably read a little something like this: “Nicole looks super hot in a pair of short shorts on a nice beach at sunset”. There’s also a dude breakdancing in the sand but that’s essentially it. However, the concept works because of the 35-year-old’s stunning beauty and the fact that the song screams summer smash — making a fun-in-the-sun visual only fitting. Watch up top. More »
Lyric videos can often prove to be tiresome forays into the unnecessary, and the one for Nicole Scherzinger
‘s “Your Love”
is no exception. Still, if you’re like us, then you were likely caught off guard by the overall catchy nature of Scherzy’s new collab with The-Dream
and Tricky Stewart
, and so the song itself transcends any need for flash with these types of promo gimmicks.
Above you’ll see palm trees zip by on what looks like a tropical island while some video tech plays around with the color tinting. More teasing for the actual music video, which looks to be a summery, beachy affair? Watch and see. More »
delivers her first truly great single since “Don’t Hold Your Breath”
today with “Your Love” (sorry, “Wet” fans). The onetime Pussycat Doll
had been teasing
the housey track over the past week
, and while the snippets sounded promising, they didn’t indicate just how infectious “Your Love” really is.
Hit-makers The-Dream and Tricky Stewart (Rihanna‘s “Umbrella,” Beyonce‘s “Single Ladies”) are behind the cut, and it’s ’90s dance flourishes — while certainly not unheard of with pop fare in 2014 — mark a clear change in sound for all involved. The song has a July 2 release date, which will be just in time for Nicole’s summery, beach-themed video to premiere.
We’re certainly on board for “Your Love.” Give the doo-doo-doo-da-doo-filled gem a listen below and see if it also has your heart going pitter-pat. More »
‘s much-anticipated new single “Your Love”
is even closer than we thought. The stunning 35-year-old kicked off her comeback last week by releasing a snippet of The Dream
-produced dance anthem as well as sharing pics from the glamorous beach-themed video shoot
The puakenikeni aficionado posted another snippet of “Your Love” on Instagram today (May 28) and it basically confirms that she has an absolute monster pop song on her hands. This time, she shares a taste of the chorus and it really lets Nicole cut loose with those often underutilized pipes. The diva also drops a bombshell at the end of the clip, revealing that it drops tomorrow. Listen after the jump. More »
got the internet buzzing earlier this week by announcing the release date (July 2) of comeback single “Your Love”
. She also posted a couple of pics from the beach-themed video. Today (May 23) we get our first taste of The Dream
-produced club-banger and it sounds like a surefire smash. (Not that I had any doubt).
“Something about you so enticin’ even when I try to fight it, knock me out like Michael Tyson,” she coos before launching into the pleading pre-chorus: “I’m never letting you go baby, I love you so baby!” Everything about this is on point. Nicole’s vocal is smooth and sexy, and she rides the hypnotic beat like a true pop veteran. Listen to an 18 second snippet of “Your Love” after the jump. More »
