:: Big Machine Label Group (a.k.a. Taylor Swift‘s record label) has swiped the singer’s entire discography from Spotify. The move was probably made to amp up her already-insane record sales, but the streaming service was none too pleased about the decision. In a statement, Spotify said: “We believe fans should be able to listen to music wherever and whenever they want, and that artists have an absolute right to be paid for their work and protected from piracy.” [Billboard]
:: Speaking of Taylor Swift, she recently announced her 2015 world tour in support of her 1989 LP. The UK dates suspiciously circle around the Glastonbury Festival next year, which leaves the media to speculate if the singer will be performing. Time will only tell! [Digital Spy]
:: As a follow-up to her first-ever men’s fragrance (Rouge Man) released in August, Rihanna will now have a new fragrance for her female fans. The singer announced the news of the Rouge Love perfume on Twitter, but no word yet when it will be available. [MTV News]
:: In weirder news, Ariana Grande called the police on a fan who was sending her a bevy of packages. The gifts included a 42-pound pumpkin, eight Yankee candles, an anklet from Kay Jewelers and more. The cops have warned the man (a 29-year-old named Tim Normandin from Lowell, MA) to back off the singer. And we agree — it’s just plain creepy. [TMZ]

Beware, boys: She’s got a pen handy.

Tay Tay will be sharing the stage with a bunch of previously announced acts, including Iggy Azalea, Charli XCX and Lorde — and of course, the show’s host, Pitbull. Dale!

The “Blank Space” singer has announced a string of 2015 dates, which kicks off on May 20 in Bossier City, LA and ends on October 31 in Tampa, FL.

Taylor Swift can draw a wide-ranging crowd to her sold-out arena shows. “Even at a Justin Bieber show — even at a women’s-studies seminar — you won’t find as pronounced a female-to-male ratio, nor such a wide age range: toddlers and teens and tweens and their moms, for sure, but also college co-eds, and grandmothers, and rowdy thirtysomething office workers, like the gals who sat in the row behind me, passing a flask of booze,” Jody Rosen, then New York magazine pop music critic, wrote last year.
According to Saturday Night Live, however, some may still have a tough time admitting to themselves that yes, they actually love 1989 and “Shake It Off” and all that. In the above sketch, “Swiftamine,” that is actually the new leading cause for vertigo among adults like guest host Chris Rock. “Your frontal lobe says, ‘Oof. Taylor Swift. She’s always wearing, like, a 1950s bathing suit,’” a medical professional says. “But your ears say, ‘Shut up. This is a perfect song.’” More »

Taylor Swift talks living single in 23 (yes, 23) editions of Cosmopolitan‘s December issue. So, while songs off her fifth album 1989 deal with fleeting memories of an ex, Swift emphasizes how she isn’t interested in dating and couldn’t be happier. “People will say, ‘Let me set you up with someone,’ and I’m just sitting there saying, ‘That’s not what I’m doing. I’m not lonely. I’m not looking,’” she says. “I completely feel you on that, oh my God. They just don’t get it.”
The magazine describes Swift as “this girl’s girl,” who debates with friends like Girls creator Lena Dunham over the double standards of dating between males and females. As she also proved with her recent secret listening sessions, this sense of relatability is still key to Swift’s appeal. It’s why her first “documented, official pop album” has felt like a personal victory to fans, with an estimated 1.2 million copies sold during its first week. More »

:: Taylor Swift‘s new album 1989 is a massive hit (it’s predicted to sell just over one million copies in its first week alone), so there’s no surprise the popstar wants to take the project on the road! During her appearance on Good Morning America on October 29, she stated: “I am gonna be going out on tour very soon! We’re in the early stages of planning the actual show. I’m excited about announcing things when I can announce them, but it’s going to be happening!”[Just Jared]
:: Good news for Chris Brown! The troubled entertainer has settled two assault cases: one for charging at a man in Washington D.C. and the other for brawling with Frank Ocean‘s cousin in a parking lot last January. His total payment was $120,000. But that should be chump change for him…right? [MTV]
:: Jimmy Kimmel plans to host the 2014 Country Music Awards via hologram on November 5. But that’s not all! He’ll be hosting two shows at the same damn time: the CMAS as well as Jimmy Kimmel Live. The holograms of 2pac at 2012′s Coachella and Michael Jackson at this year’s Billboard Music Awards were creepy, so hopefully the talk show host can pull it off. [Complex]

Taylor Swift is striking while the iron is hot. The 24-year-old, who is now expected to sell a whopping 1.2 million copies of 1989 this week, is already moving on from lead single “Shake It Off” — despite the fact that it’s still number one on iTunes and lodged at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 behind Meghan Trainor‘s blockbuster hit “All About That Bass”.
According to her label, the next single from 1989 is “Blank Space” and it’s set to impact radio on November 10. The Max Martin/Shellback anthem addresses Taylor’s lengthy dating history with cheeky lyrics about her little black book. “Got a long list of ex-lovers, they’ll tell you I’m insane,” the former country/current pop queen sings. “But I got a blank space baby and I’ll write your name.” Who could resist that offer?
