All the cash the Black Eyed Peas obtain from the sales of their albums, world tours and endorsement deals must go directly back into their music videos, particularly the flashy, expensive-looking new clip for their single “The Time (The Dirty Bit)
“. The Rich Lee-directed vid features all four members of the BEP, as well as the clubgoers shaking their booties around them, turning into animated pixels while gettin’ down. It doesn’t make us love the song anymore, but the pixelated effects are undeniably amazing. Have the time of your life — or at least a time of your day — by watching below.
The Black Eyed Peas have promised to drop a single a week until their forthcoming album, The Beginning
, drops on November 30. (Which is a generous gift or an evil threat, depending on whether you enjoy the group’s empty-but-enjoyable beats.) And the AMA performers
, who walked away with Favorite Pop/Rock Group, are true to their word — listen to their third new track in as many weeks, the (comparatively) laid-back number, “Light Up The Night” below.
A careful look at the nominess
for Sunday’s American Music Awards should have signaled that we were in for a long night of poor-to-horrendous attempts at live singing, but still, we just had no idea
, you guys. Pitchiness abounded, but we did enjoy seeing some of our faves rock the red carpet
beforehand. (Is Taylor Swift taking cues
from Donatella Versace now?). Check below to see the evening’s performances from Rihanna, Black Eyed Peas, Miley Cyrus, Enrique Iglesias and the rest of the lineup. Was it just us, or did you miss Adam Lambert
It’s a daunting task to choose between a teen heartthrob, a perky pop starlet, a grime-loving newcomer, a bizarrely dressed monster and a redeemed rap star as the year’s best, but tonight’s 2010 American Music Awards aims to do just that. Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga and Eminem are all up for Artist of the Year, though we’re sure all five nominees
are worthy of the honor in their own way. (Gaga certainly deserves to win Sandwich Artist of the Year with her brilliant Miracle Whip-spreading skills in the “Telephone
But which act is taking home the pointy trophy? Let’s find out together as we comment on the three-hour long mish-mosh of musical performances that is the 2010 AMAs. Liveblog begins below!
The feminine piece to the The Black Eyed Peas puzzle, Fergie was dressed in a flattering blue micro dress for the AMAs red carpet. The Beginning
music group walked away with a win for the Favorite Band, so we’re not sure why the “I Got A Feeling
” artists don’t look more jazzed to be arriving at the awards show in these pics. Check out Fergie’s sexy entrance ensemble—and will.i.am’s rubber suit jacket and lego hat!
The entire staff and crew of The Today Show
got into the Internet spirit for their “Today Goes Viral” week with an impressive lip dub through studio 1A in Rockefeller Plaza. The NBC show performed their dance-tastic, single take vid to the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Got A Feeling”
—which, if you perform a quick YouTube search can see, has
already been lip dubbed. While it’s not as ingenious as 2,430 slices of toast
, it’s smile-inducing, toe-tapping fun. But we have to wonder, is there anything less “viral” than a network news show predicting its video will go viral?
If you’re less X-Box and more Atari, you’ll love the preview/lyrics video for The Black Eyed Peas’ single “Do It Like This
“, which finds its inspiration in old school video games. (Although three minutes long, it’s only a preview since it cuts off before the track spirals into a completely different beat). Reading the lyrics to a Black Eyed Peas song can almost take all the fun out of it when you realize how ridiculous much of it is (“I ain’t stupie, I know what the truth be”). Still, aren’t the 8-bit versions of Fergie and Apl.de.ap adorable
?! Watch the clip below.
If you weren’t a fan of the simplicity and ridiculousness that was The Black Eyed Peas’ “My Humps”, methinks you will want to stay away from “Do It Like This”, the BEP’s second single from their upcoming album, The Beginning
. No, the song doesn’t revolve around Fergie’s lady lumps, in the back nor the front, but it’s got one of those beats that you will voluntarily bop your head to at first… only to go crazy when the song gets stuck in your head from now til eternity. Don’t fight it, folks. You won’t be able to avoid this one, so just head below and get it over with.

Earlier today we got our hands on Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday album sampler
, but now it’s time to put aside the ferocious rapper’s debut LP for a moment in order to preview the Black Eyed Peas’ latest offering to dancefloors ’round the world, The Beginning.
After listening to a preview of the group’s 15 tracks, we can happily say that there’s more to BEP’s latest LP than placing songs from the soundtrack of our youth
into hip-pop tracks where they don’t belong. Jump below for the Peas’ album sampler! More »
