Katy Perry, Selena Gomez, Rihanna and more pop stars react to the suicide bombing at Ariana Grande's concert.

The Voice contestant Chris Blue covered R.E.M.‘s “Everybody Hurts” with former coach Usher during last night’s season finale.

Despite appearing side by side with a pop veteran, Chris appeared completely at ease, as if he had done this 100 times before. The Knoxville, Tenn., native would later be crowned winner of The Voice. But, in case you hadn’t seen him perform Stevie Wonder‘s “Superstition,” or Rihanna‘s “Love in the Brain” earlier this season, this poignant rendition of R.E.M.’s 1992 single made clear why Chris had gotten so far in the competition. Not only was this a win for Chris, but the outcome was also a feat for newbie coach Alicia Keys, whose team beat Adam Levine and Blake Shelton‘s.

Chris and Usher’s performance wasn’t the only highlight from The Voice‘s season 12 finale. Another former Voice coach, Miley Cyrus, dedicated her latest performance of single “Malibu” to her “good friend” Ariana Grande and “everyone who experienced that horrific attack” in Manchester. Cee Lo Green covered Earth, Wind & Fire‘s “Shining Star” with contestant Jesse Larson, while Alessia Cara turned “Scars to Your Beautiful” into a duet with finalist Aliyah Moulden.
