The holiday-record landscape is pretty crowded this year, but there's one that we kind of want to hear: Billy Idol's Happy Holidays, which is the peroxided punker's homage to "the original, joyful nature of the season." (Which means no "Yellin' At The Xmas Tree.") In this clip, Idol and his ever-present sneer try and make their way through a straight-up rendition of the old chestnut "White Christmas," and the clip's replete with chyroned snow and moments when Idol looks like he's about to crack up and launch into "Cradle Of Love."

Shaking the wrapped present while singing - that's so punk: he broke the pretty crystal cock ring his publicist gave him.
Where's Bill Nighy when you need him?
Barenaked Ladies have a Christmas album out too. Maybe they can all go on tour with Trns Siberian Orchestra.
It's just I know the old version so well...
A hearty AMEN on the "Love Actually" reference... any guesses on what incentive proved sufficient to convince Mr. Broad to get into the holiday spirit?
He's in love with his overweight manager, obviously.
Put a little white dog in this and it could easily be a new Christmas ad for Target...Shilling for discount housewares and faux coture is so punk...
Billy Idol should be every parents example for: Don't make that face! It'll get stuck like that!
Why is he twitching like that and clenching his fists periodically? O my God, he's snapping in time to the beat! THAT'S NOT PUNK AT ALL!
WHY BILLY?! WWWWWHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Trippy. Please tell me this is a viral campaign for some ill-advised "family oriented" holiday movie.
I remember seeing Billy Idol in The Wedding Singer and thinking, "Whoa, if I was Billy Idol, I'd be pissed that the guy they've got playing me looks so shitty."
.....Who knew he was a decent singer? Of course, he could have used a little coaching help. You don't take big gulps of air in the middle of the phrase, Bill!
.....It works a lot better if you aren't watching the video, BTW.
.....I now have to punch up "Rebel Yell" to get that thing out of my head!
oh lord, it gets worse -- an entire holiday album from the Bill (as noted by our friends at WFMU).
