Slits frontwoman Ari Up—nee Arianna Forster—is at work forming a new version of her former band for a fall US tour, but it's only been a year since her underheralded solo album was released. Dread More Dan Dead doesn't waste any time, kicking off with the dancehall banger "Baby Mother" before going into "True Warrior," which is sprinkled with the elliptical harmonizing that defined the Slits' straight-up classic Cut .
