While researching the forthcoming albums that we'd be playing the crap out of yesterday, we found out that the Canadian spazz-wavers Hot Hot Heat are readying their next full-length with pop guru Butch Walker, who, as you may have noticed, is something of a revered figure around these parts. We listened to Hot Hot Heat's glammed-out "5 Times Out Of 100" a lot when it came out back in 2002, but our interest in the band has waned with each successive record; if anyone can get us to keep hoping that these British Columbians return to their dark-pop nook, it'll be Walker, who even made us give the Rock Star Supernova band a second listen.

Agreed. First album, brilliant. Couldn't get enough of "Bandages" "Oh, Goddamnit" among, well, the rest of the damn album. Second album, "Island of the Honest Man" and "You Owe Me an IOU" were the only songs worth it.
I think it's best if we just pretend Hot Hot Heat only existed for one EP.
yeah hot hot heat was the shit
One EP? Really? I loved the first full-length.
They have a very basic, straightforward problem: NEED SONGS. Doesn't matter who the producer is - if they can come up with more stuff a la Make Up the Breakdown they'll be fine; another bunch of Elevator-level crap, and they're done for.
i agree about the first album. "Get In Or Get Out" was a favorite.
I'm not aware they had a full-length, Dennis. Since they clearly do not, you must be thinking of the EP, which is awesome.
