People, we're clearly living in desperate times: Lumidee, who gave the world the light-as-air summer jam "Never Leave You" a few years back, has returned with a cover of "She's Like The Wind"—yes, the Patrick Swayze Dirty Dancing ballad. This take swaps out Swayze's piano for heavy synths, and Tony Sunshine handles most of the heavy lifting, vocals-wise. The real cause for alarm, though, is the way that it echoes another "Wind" cover that came out this year—one by the German DJ outfitVibe Kingz .

Ugh. Vibe Kingz were all OVER German MTV a few weeks ago. Also ripping up the DeutscheCharts: Us5, Lou Perlman's latest creation. I know it's Germany, but still, boy bands? Honest to goodness boy bands?
The worst thing about Us5 is probably the fact that they insist they're "Big in America" (or at least that's the title of the multipart documentary-cum-reality-show about their lives), whereas I'm pretty sure nobody on the USA has the slightest idea that they exist.
Ok, maybe the blonde girl they got to play one of the guy's girlfriends on the documentary (IT'S TWU WOV, PEOPLE!) does.
