We haven't been this excited about a musical conflict since Another Bad Creation tried to school Kris Kross!

To answer the question in the lower left of that cover: Yes.
I like Mr. Way's new look there. Very Gary Numan circa 1987, and about as interesting.
I believe it was Kriss Kross who started the whole "beef" with ABC.
Hüsker Dü's side, chuh.
You're with me, Rites of Spring.
I'm with whichever side gets to kick Panic at the Disco square in the nuts.
Our Emo Could Be Your Life
And here this place has lost a bit of respect from me. You can't go headline grabbing just through mocking emo. Mock emos as in the people all you like but at least listen to the music before slamming it.
It's My Chemical Romance we're talking about, I don't think anyone's predetermined biases are going to be too far off-base even if they haven't listened to them.
War on Emo = hey, where's the digg this button?
njsykora, we've all heard Emo before- that's why we're so motivated to war against it. Because it sucks, and not even in an entertaining way, like bad hip-hop. Bad hip-hop at least goes out with a bang, Emo goes out like a massive cauldron of whimpers.
I'm sort of hoping for mutual assured destruction.
ugh.
these bands are as emo as they are punk.
Jesus Christ, I stop paying attention for a decade and emo goes from Rites of Spring and Fugazi to this pansy ass crap.
It's like if jazz went from Miles Davis to some kind of pansy ass crap like Kenny G...
nevermind.
and all this time i thought you were dissing innocent emu.
Marissa Marchant to comment box.
I hate that the term emo was stolen from good bands like Rites of Spring and given to these assdragons.
Shit, so you're telling me that there's actually an emo backlash now? Next you'll be telling me electronica isn't here to stay!
Which one of these bands isn't emo?
"these bands are as emo as they are punk."
I don't know anything about emo, but if this is what goes for punk today, please shoot me.
Not only is there an apparent "War on Emo," but the NME has declared war on English as one can see by the upper-right hand corner. Also, their contractual obligation to feature the Arctic Monkeys on every cover in a positive light must be running out soon.
"MCR verses P exclamation mark ATD
bottled at Reading
attacked by tabloids
threatened in the street
it is a war on emo
whose side are you on?"
If only My Chemical Romance had choruses describing the cover story of the NME. That new My Chemical Romance single is the best guilty pleasure I have heard in at least a day. By my opinion of the single, it seems as if MCR is interested in shaking the world of quasi-emo by starting up a LL-Canibus thing. Ladies love snowy colored hair or at least I think I do or at least I do or at least I am kind of scared by the photo of that dude from MCR.
Spulture you have made my day for introducing me to the term assdragon. Carry on.
I hate to admit it...but I actually like Panic! at the Disco. My Chemical Romance is utter garbage, but Panic has some really, REALLY catchy hooks. It's a guilty pleasure, but a pleasure none-the-less.
I'm beginning to think that Oasis keeps going just as a favor to NME.
