Mustachioed Killers singer Brandon Flowers is starting to get frustrated about the tepid critical response to Sam's Town, and apparently he's been consulting mediums as a way to deal:
"The sky used to be the limit, and it's not anymore. It's about 200 feet, and beyond that people think you're being comical," [Killers lead singer Brandon Flowers] said. "People ask me if we were trying to be funny with this record because it's big and exciting and confident. And my answer is, 'I don't think Beethoven was trying to be funny.'"

The list of musicians I desperately want to punch in the face used to begin and end with Tommy Lee. Now, Brandon "Cinderalla Story" Flowers has come out of nowhere to take his place.
They should go on tour with Angels and Airwaves, and the combined ego slosh fest will drown them all, letting peace reign.
Dear Brandon,
Reasons people think your album is funny:
1. The music. Come on...
2. Your new moustache is so camp that it makes Freddie Mercury's look achingly hetero by comparison.
3. The music.
Seriously, is he delusional? Beethoven?
"i dont think beethoven was trying to be funny"
"i don't think beethoven was trying to be funny"
why does this site not accept my comments?
goddammit. or accept them twice?
this is all funnier if you imagine him pronouncing it as "beeth-oven", a la bill & teds excellent adventure...
MTS, the sad thing is, Im 99% sure that Brandon Flowers would pronounce Ludvig Van as such - and not ironically, either.
Ach, I'm finding myself in total agreement with Flowers here. There seems to be a petty hate campaign waging against The Killers among the music blog community - a bunch of chaps who are endlessly happy to waggle their woggles over unaspiring so-so bands, but mock those who shoot a little further. Once upon a time, indie-snobbery was laughed at. Now, it seems, it's okay to be a sulky elitist again. But here's the painful truth: if The Killers were a tiny bunch of no-marks from Flint, Michigan you'd all love 'em. Back to your Swedish folk-pop, everyone - but be careful you only ever love stuff that's a bit rubbish. That way you can keep it all to yourselves...
