Echosmith’s “Come Together” Video: Idolator Premiere

Los Angeles-based quartet Echosmith put a fresh spin on ’80s pop with “Come Together,” the new single from the sibling band’s forthcoming debut album. The accompanying Breakfast Club-inspired video — which we’re stoked to premiere — finds the band skipping out on detention and jamming out in their school’s auditorium. It’s a fun backdrop for the synth-laden, New Wave-tinged song.

Sydney Sierota, Echosmith’s lead singer and keyboardist, explained that “this song is about a group of people coming together and living in the moment. The Breakfast Club is one of our favorite movies of all time and it was so fun to put our own twist on it.” Watch the video up top.

Echosmith take their alt-pop influences from early ’80s pop with hints of Taylor Swift. The four-piece is currently in the studio working with producer Mike Elizondo (Tegan And Sara, Gary Clark Jr., Maroon 5) on their debut album. Look out for the band at this summer’s Warped Tour, and grab a free download of “Come Together” via Echosmith’s summer sampler.
