Perfume Talks 'Future Pop'
We speak to Japan's iconic girl group Perfume about their new LP, 'Future Pop.'

Perfume always excels visually, but the Japanese girl group takes it to the next level with their “Future Pop” video. A breathtaking mix of live action and anime, the clip is set in 2030 — a time when Tokyo has become a smart city with a 5G connection. That means self-driving cars (not completely unrealistic), dancing shopping carts (sure!) and an individualized nightclub experience. Oh, and the lovely ladies can also fly. Or least do their signature choreography in a virtual world. I’m sold!

“Future Pop” is the title track from Perfume’s recently-released 6th LP, which debuted at number one in Japan (their sixth consecutive chart-topper). It has already produced a wealth of hits including “Tokyo Girl,” “If You Wanna” and “Mugen Mirai,” but it looks like there are still plenty of potential singles on the album. Excitingly, the iconic trio also revealed that they will embark on an Asian and North American Tour in 2019 (below). While the dates are yet to be announced, they are looking at Spring. Watch their latest video up top.
