Fans of John Green‘s bestseller The Fault In Our Stars crowded inside YouTube Space in Los Angeles to see the film adaptation start coming to life. Along with chats with the stars themselves, Charli XCX and Ed Sheeran performed songs from the film’s soundtrack, out May 19 via Atlantic. And for both artists, their YouTube Live Event slots marked the first time those songs were heard live.

Charli XCX kicked off the event with summer anthem contender “Boom Clap,” along with the lead single from her forthcoming second album, 2013’s “SuperLove.” (She reassured the crowd that the record’s coming soon, after revealing that the “Boom Clap” video was shot in Amsterdam and coming soon.) About an hour later, Sheeran helped wind things down with his acoustic ballad “All Of The Stars.”
