Actually the opposite. The same person who irritated the living hell out of people in the 80's and 90's going on and on about how they have some handnumbered color vinyl 7" that you'll never obtain because you're clearly inferior is probably the older brother/sister of the music blogger who spends time complaining about other music blogs.

and huh...the ladies of TRGAW would posit that your collection of obscure 7"s makes you a completist nerd (and thus, potentially, an .mp3 blogger) rather than "cool," which, by default indicates a propensity for snarky comments since one must overcompensate for not being allowed to sit at the cool table. pretty neat...even if it is a circular argument.

Who writes specifically about Pavement?

Every aspiring or current music journalist knows only to drop Pavement references in articles which are multiples of prime numbers, but never to do a fullie on Pavement (unless they're getting back together, or not getting back together, you do own Wowee Zowee, right, if not go get it).

We write about Art Brut (stop the HTML encoders, the tour we reported three months ago opens tonight, AND NOTHING'S CHANGED THAT HASN'T BEEN REPORTED BEFORE), we claim to have listened to their LP a hundred times, but everyone knows we're listening to the redux-ified Pavement albums with bonuses aplenty, wishing wistfully for the ghost of Stephen Malkmus to float through our window an caress our hair.
