I couldn't agree more. I don't think it was hip for white rock kids in the 90's to be into hip hop (I'm only 23, so I wouldn't really know), but then it became cool in the late 90's/early 2000's, when Snoop and Jay-Z and Eminem all crossed over into mainstream, and he's probably trying to sound EXTRA cool by going counterculture and saying he doesn't know hip hop.

Joshua Radin doesn't care about black people.

When is the "I don't know much about hip hop" line going to finally become unacceptable? It's not 1983, the genre defines an entire generation of kids, and not knowing anything about it is like talking about the "series of tubes" that make up the internet.
