Look, there are still jobs for music writers out there–we were just passed along this missive that Blender sent to publicists:

Jon Dolan has joined Blender in the position of Senior Critic. Jon was an editor at Spin magazine from 2000-2006. He’s contributed to Entertainment Weekly, Salon, the Village Voice and other publications. Jon is one of the premier music writers in the country, and he will have a prominent role in our magazine.

Ryan Dombal has joined Blender.com as out first (and only) fulltime blogger. Ryan has worked as a reporter at Entertainment Weekly for the past two years. Along with writing for EW, he’s been a regular contributor to Pitchfork.com and has also spent time working on blogs devoted to hip-hop mixtapes and music videos.

Poor Pitchfork–no matter how much attention they get from music-writing’s big guns, people still can’t stop confusing them with that site where you can pick up cattle on the cheap.

(Obligatory disclaimer: Dolan is a close pal of one of your Idolator editors. Obligatory Pitchfork dig: When it comes down to it, we’d rather read about livestock than the new Clap Your Hands Say Yeah album.)
