Doing It For The Kid, Part II

Last month, we mentioned the plight of former Jawbox frontman J. Robbins, a leading figure in the D.C. post-punk scene, and a high-school hero to one of your Idolators. Robbins’ one-year-old son, Cal (pictured; note similar father-son haircuts), was born with a genetic motor neuron disease, and the family is asking for help with donations. Now there are two fundraisers to attend: Ted Leo will play Brooklyn’s Northsix on Jan. 26th, and several acts–including Chin Up Chin Up and Bobby Conn–will play at Chicago’s Empty Bottle on Jan. 27th.
