Videodrone: Deep Down, Joss Stone Must Know That She’s No Good

From all reports, last night’s Brit Awards were a pretty staid affair, an opinion that’s reinforced by the fact that most of the post-show buzz has been about the normally yawn-worthy Joss Stone. Not only did Stone give a shout-out to Robbie Williams while affecting a California-girl accent, she tried to toss off a verse of Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab”–a pretty dumb thing to do, since Winehouse had just finished performing the song. Is Stone trying to gain “street cred” by emulating the awards-show behavior of Macy Gray, or is she just desperate to remind the audience that she was, at one time, famous for singing?
