Listening Station: TheSwede Travels Into Our Inbox
It’s a good thing we’ve been trying to get sort of organized lately–otherwise, the e-mail from the tipster who let us know about TheSwede, the solo project by North Carolinian Matthew William Kohnle, may have been lost to whatever the pixelated equivalent of dust-bunnies are. Her simple pitch (“I love this record. I want other people to love it too.”) for the band was accompanied by the attached MP3, “Director,” which has a stretched-out feel and a breezy piano line:
