News that two members of nu-goth outfit Evanescence–drummer Rocky Gray and guitarist John LeCompt–had left the band hit over the weekend, but the exact nature of their departure has been up in the air. While lead singer Amy Lee said in a MySpace post that the two left because they were “were ready to move on,” LeCompt took to his MySpace and refuted her claim, saying that he was fired. He’s since made his MySpace private, no doubt because of a management-imposed gag order that Gray blogged about yesterday. (Note Gray’s mood on that post: “Happy!”) LeCompt’s blog post, which even has a little self-promotion for his new band, has been reprinted elsewhere:

I have now become just another of the people fallen by the wayside on the revolving door of her life. It’s funny how many of us there are now. I guess it’s good for lyrical content, though. Maybe I will be among the blessed to have a song written about me, too. Maybe the song will be “Call Me When You’re Broke”.

Burn! Anyway, we have to say this about this little war of words: It’s so nice to not have to wait 10 years for the biography to get the inside dirt on band breakups. Is it too much to hope that LeCompt’s MySpace will start streaming Amy Lee dis songs within the next day or two?
