Pole-Dancing Experts Agree: Britney Spears Is Really Helping Them Get Press
In preparation for today’s MTV premiere of Britney Spears’ “Gimme More,” USA Today got reactions on the video from someone who may be the ultimate expert: Fawnia Dietrich, “a pole dance instructor, fitness model, personal trainer, writer, producer and actress” who also counts herself as a fan (lucky for her). Other tidbits about Dietrich: She’s from Kamloops, B.C.; her middle name is Louise; she learned to dance from Madonna; and she now has bangs!
Unfortunately for Spears, Dietrich didn’t find anything “pole-dance-worthy” about the “Gimme More” clip–and she also caught Britney ripping off her own dance moves from the clip for “Boys.” However, she did like the clip’s lighting (we’re sure whoever was in charge of that is high-fiving his buds right now) and she does think that Britney has the–and this is a direct quote, here–“stripper confidence” that she needs to succeed down the line.Or, at the very least, begin her comeback as a contestant on the next installment of VH1’s Rock Of Love.
