From the parking lot of last night’s Garth Brooks show in Kansas City, a sign that the “performance-art” world might be running dry of inspiration: “A group of young performance artists passed out ironic “missing person” flyers. The person in question: Chris Gaines, the invented pop persona Brooks briefly adopted in 1999.” Or maybe it’s some sort of viral-marketing trick for a reissue of The Life Of Chris Gaines, in which case, I give up.
