Cassie’s Gonna Learn How To Fly (High)
The clip for Cassie’s “Is It You?” quotes liberally from Step Up 2: The Streets, which features the singer playing one of the many aspiring stars enrolled in the Maryland School of the Arts. “Is It You?” is a pulsing not-quite-ballad that gives the singer’s robotic on-record persona a bit more body (I suspect it’ll sound even better in the context of an early evening out), but Cassie’s performance in the clip has made me sure of one thing: If her Step Up 2 character plays an actress, the movie’s versimilitude will take a big, big hit.
