Dan Deacon’s upcoming Baltimore-centric tour will hit seven cities on 14 dates, with each city getting an “eyes night” (music that is “spiritual, dreamy, etc.”) and a “feet night” (artists who cause people to “dance, thrash, or otherwise move around”). On top of that, each night will operate on a round-robin concept: “‘[At] each gig, all of the night’s bands will set up their gear simultaneously “along the perimeter of the room, with the audience in the center.’ Then the round robin part begins, as each band rolls through one song, then passes the spotlight to the next band with nary a moment’s break in between.” It kind of sounds like it was inspired by Later… With Jools Holland, no? Although I certainly hope that there are at least a few swivel chairs set up at each venue for the old folks. [Pitchfork]
