Tabloid fixture and sometime singer Amy Winehouse has told a UK gossip columnist that even though her stab at a theme to the new James Bond movie, Quantum Of Solace, was rejected in favor of a collaboration between Jack White and Alicia Keys, she’s going to get it together enough to record the song anyway. Really!

Apparently, Amy wants to “prove [the producers] have made a big mistake…. If they want a worldwide hit, I have them all up here [pointing to her beehive].” And she’s going to finish the track, which she was writing with Back To Black producer Mark Ronson, in time for there to be–wait for it–dueling Bond themes on the charts. “I guess they are going for clean-cut and boring. When I do release mine–and I am tempted to do it on the same day–this would be the bigger hit.” Something tells me that the producers weren’t going for “clean-cut and boring” as much as they were going for “likely to finish the damn thing before Daniel Craig’s son gets tapped to play Bond,” but hey, maybe she knows a few facts that I don’t.
