Sugababes Would Like You To Raise Your Lighters

Last night, the British girl group the Sugababes previewed a few tracks from Catfights And Spotlights (out in two and a half weeks!) at the London Forum–and, of course, some squeal-happy girl with a cameraphone was there to record the whole thing. (Her vantage point was so close, in fact, that I wondered if she wasn’t some sort of street-teamer/viral-marketer dispatched to the second row for the express purpose of generating buzz about the record.) Above is my favorite of the three new songs, “Every Heart Broken,” which sounds like it’s going for the “big romantic anthem” thanks to the slow build to its soaring, raise-your-arms chorus–although who knows what oddities the producer, known Robyn associate Klas Åhlund, will sprinkle into its final version. (Either way, odds are 5-3 that the video will be set in a mansion.) The two other new tracks are after the jump.

Here’s the moody “Beware,” which I hope has a similar spaghetti-Western feel on record:

And finally, the kiss-off song “No Can Do,” which starts off a little bit rough, but really kicks into gear once Keisha Buchanan takes her rightful place in the spotlight:
