Just in case you were wondering: Orianthi Panagaris, the Australian guitarist/singer who was a member of Michael Jackson’s backing band for his ill-fated run of shows at London’s O2 Arena, will
not be replacing recently departed Panic At The Disco guitarist Ryan Ross, despite claims that apparently started on Wikipedia yesterday. Panagaris–who goes professionally by her first name–would certainly be an interesting addition to Panic, given her guitar goddess pedigree (which includes work with veteran shredder Steve Vai) and Taylor Swift gone goth look, but alas, the collaboration is only in the “ludicrous rumor that was probably started by some Internet saddo unable to sweat out a Google Trends-fueled fever dream” stage. Oh well. Tune in tomorrow, when the Internet tries to get Ne-Yo to become the new lead singer of Velvet Revolver! Michael Jackson’s Guitarist Is Not Joining Panic At The Disco [MTV]
