Last night we hit up the private party at the Playhouse in Hollywood to see pop-punk upstarts Forever The Sickest Kids (pictured above) and DJ Franki Chan, presented by Soundsofbuzz.com and The Sims 3. Given that the 2010 Grammy nods were announced last week, we checked in with IHEARTCOMIX owner Chan to get his take on this year’s Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronic Album nominees.

“I’m probably the most excited about Lady Gaga,” DJ Franki Chan said. Gaga’s “Poker Face” is up for Best Dance Recording, while her full debut The Fame is nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album.

“I think Lady Gaga has at least a bit of a personality,” he continued. “The re-emergence of Daft Punk, the frenzy that was around Justice, just the whole electro scene coming back with with folks like Kanye, Madonna and the Black Eyed Peas—who were already mainstream—grabbing on to that stuff definitely helped open the door for newer emerging electronic artists who still had a pop sound.”

The 2010 Grammy telecast will air January 31.

Below are the lists of nominees in the dance field. For Grammy nominations in other fields, go here.
