Surely you didn’t think the Michael Jackson tribute blitz was going to suddenly stop after the BET Awards, the MTV Video Music Awards, the American Music Awards, Janet Jackson’s ABC interview (and, hell, even the creepy Michael Jackson DNA-sampling cologne and pricey coffee table book), did you?

In fact, it was almost a forgone conclusion that the Grammy Awards would indeed be honoring Jackson during its upcoming January 31, 2010 telecast.

Rolling Stone reports that MJ will be honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement award. Other recipients are set to include Loretta Lynn, Bobby Darin, André Previn and Leonard Cohen.

Now if only the Academy can ensure that This Is It gets nominated for an Oscar. Or, hey, maybe Michael can be singled out for a belated, 31-years-after-the-fact special statue for his work as The Scarecrow in The Wiz?

In fact, YouTube user SpikeyHamster‘s already compiled the singer’s best bits from the flick for voters:

Oh, we kid, we kid, MJ. May you keep on EEEEEEE-Heeeeeee-ing from now till eternity.
