Akon And Keri Hilson Get Charitable With “Oh Africa”
Much attention has been paid to artists doing charity work for Haiti—as it should be—but Keri Hilson and Akon teamed up recently for the song “Oh Africa,” which benefits underprivileged African youth, and also features the Soweto Gospel Choir on vocals.
The bright, multi-colored video premiered over the weekend. (See it below the jump.) Of course, we already know that Keri is no stranger to colorful videos. And, uh, let’s just say Akon is no stranger to colorful lyrics.
Akon has also been known to extend his generosity to his fellow artists. Grammy winner David Guetta, who produced “Sexy Bitch” for the Senegalese singer, told us last week that if it weren’t for Akon, he have the opportunities he does now:
“I’m now working on Kelly [Rowland]’s new album. I also have the new Madonna album coming up. So I’m very thankful to Kelly and Will[i.am] and Akon—all those people who came to me when I was not big.”
