Chew On This: Lil Wayne’s Sentencing Postponed Due To Dental Surgery

Damn you, Lil Wayne! We were all down over the somber occasion of Weezy’s impending sentencing to a one-year jail term today, but not even an hour after we posted our photo gallery of  mug shots of other stars who’ve faced gun charges to mark the occasion comes the news that the pint-sized MC has gained almost another full month of freedom!

After arriving in a Manhattan courtroom around 2 p.m. today, Wayne’s lawyer Stacey Richman informed Judge Charles H. Solomon that the Cash Money honcho is suffering from a cracked tooth, and will require dental surgery, reports MTV. The judge then rescheduled the sentencing of Lil Wayne (real name: Dwayne Carter, Jr.) to March 2.

Dizz-amn! That’s, like, a full 60 or 70 more jams Weez will be able to crank out, given the breakneck pace he works at. Funny, though—he seemed fine in the hour-long “farewell” video he shot last night with Young Money rapper Lil Twist.

And, really, who knew there were any teeth left under those thousands of dollars of bling anymore?

In all seriousness, though, enjoy your jail-free February, Wayne. And don’t get into too much trouble with the ladies—or with guns—in the meantime.
