Lady Antebellum Control The Chart For A Second Week, Lead Post-Grammys Surge
It’s a second week at #1 on Billboard‘s Top 200 Albums chart for Lady Antebellum and their LP Need You Now, but they weren’t the only Grammy performers to benefit from the high profile TV gig. Hop below to see how Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne, Taylor Swift, Beyonce and the gravity-defying Pink all fared on the new chart after belting it out on the awards show.
Lady Antebellum sold 209,000 more copies of Need You Now, bringing the country trio’s two-week total for the album to nearly 700,000. On iTunes, the title track remains lodged at #2 on the Top Songs chart, where it’s held at bay by the Black Eyed Peas’ “Imma Be.”
The Peas performed “Imma Be” at the Grammys, and thus see The E.N.D. hop up four positions to #6 on the chart.
Other big post-Grammy leaps this week: the 2010 Grammy Nominees compilation (from #8 to #5), Taylor Swift’s Fearless (from #13 to #7), Zac Brown Band’s The Foundation (from #22 to #10), Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster (from #14 to #12), Beyonce’s I Am… Sasha Fierce (from #35 to #14) and Pink’s Funhouse (from #61 to #15).
Three new debuts pop into the Top 10 this week, including Lil Wayne’s troubled Rebirth at #2, after sales of 176,000. Not bad, considering the damn thing was leaked online in December. At least he now has a few weeks to celebrate, since his jail term was delayed by a whole month yesterday. Also, Nick Jonas sees his viral promo tactics pay off with a #3 debut for Who I Am, after selling about 82,000 copies. And Rob Zombie’s fourth solo album Hellbilly Deluxe 2 enters the Top 200 at #8, on sales of 49,000.
