The Black Eyed Peas Transform Themselves In “Imma Be Rocking That Body”

In these recession-weary times, it’s a rare occasion when a big budget music video manages to get the stamp of approval from label suits (unless, of course, the artist is funding the shoot themselves). Still, when you’re the Black Eyed Peas and you spent 26 weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 last year, who’s really going to argue?

After the jump: the Peas stake out the California desert and do battle with Transformers-like robots in their “Imma Be Rocking That Body” double-video.

“Imma Be” and “Rock That Body” have now been combined for the 10-minute “Imma Be Rocking That Body” video. And, we have to say, watching Fergie carry high-tech weaponry and get sand in her black, metal-covered swimwear is ten times more entertaining than sitting through two hours of Shia LaBeouf hamming it up on screen.

The mini movie was directed by Rich Lee. So is this the end of the music videos off The E.N.D. now that the iTunes-ruling Peas have their world tour underway? We know there’s at least another collaboration with the Black Eyed Peas and David Guetta (who produced “Rock That Body.”)

“It’s called ‘Gettin’ Over.’ It’s such a huge hit, it’s crazy,” Guetta told Idolator last month. “The song is on [Guetta’s album One Love] already with Chris Willis singing it. We re-recorded it , still with Chris, and also with Fergie and Will. It’s so big! The record company was like, to Fergie and Will—’You’re crazy! You cannot put out such a big record, because it’ll be competition to ourselves.’ So, we said we would wait until [The Black Eyed Peas] put out their last single.”

Maybe the group will take on Avatar for that vid—although Justin Bieber appears to have staked a claim on the blue-hued blockbuster already.
