Did You Hear?

:: Britney Spears and her agent/boyfriend Jason Trawick have called it quits after a year of dating. Now Music’s Sexiest Star can play the field—go get ’em, girl! Just stay away from paparazzi, anyone named Jason, or wannabe rappers. [E! Online]

:: Gwen Stefani rocks the cover of InStyle, and discusses her fashion line. She does not, however, talk about being the hottest 40-year old in the world. That’s where we come in. This mama of two is fine. [Just Jared]

:: There’s one person who isn’t calling Lady Gaga’s telephone—visionary director Michel Gondry is decidedly not interested in directing a Gaga video. Ever. Ouch. [True/Slant]

:: A comprehensive list of all the delicious foodstuffs musical acts sing about—and the restaurants, cafes and bars they should open in their band’s name. [Flavorwire]

:: Bret Michaels says there was nothing weird about recording a song with Miley Cyrus. He probably doesn’t think a bus full of skanky fame whores competing for the love of a washed up rock star is anything to worry about, either. [Pop Eater]

After the jump: celebrate St. Patty’s Day with one of pop’s favorite Irish bands.

Music on TV Today: :: Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC) – Switchfoot :: Last Call with Carson Daly (ABC) – Metric :: Late Show with Jimmy Fallon (NBC) – The XX :: Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC) – Gary Allan (repeat) :: Lopez Tonight (TBS) – Jason Derulo

VIDEO REWIND OF THE DAY: It would be just too easy to throw up a U2 video in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, since there are plenty other music acts who hail from Ireland that don’t receive the same adulation from the press as Bono and the gang do. So we’re going with 90s alternative sweethearts The Cranberries and their alarming video for “Zombie.” The 1994 vid, helmed by iconic music video director Samuel Bayer, collaborated with the band several times, but this black-and-white-and-gold-shot clip is arguably the most memorable video they’ve made together. Frontwoman Dolores O’Riordan wrote the song about the troubles in Northern Ireland stemming from the Easter Rising in 1916, wherein Irish Republicans attempted to end British rule in the country. Enough of a history lesson. Grab a pint of Guinness (if you’re not underage or still stuck at work) and catch the clip below.

Have a great day!
