Anyone Surprised There’s A Ke$ha Song Called “D.U.I.”?

It’s that time of the week, kids—a new Ke$ha song has popped up online. This one’s called “D.U.I.,” though it’s unfortunately less scandalous than the title implies. In fact, it’s probably safe to assume that this is yet another case of the recordings from Ke$ha’s teenage years coming back to bite her in her faux-crunked-out moneymaker.

Interesting. And if we go with the theory that, like recently-surfaced track “Styrofoam,” this one is also from years ago, it could possibly mark the origins of Ke$ha’s krazy “I’m a drunk ‘n’ wild naughty girl!!” image. Or not. Either way, it was a wise choice to leave “D.U.I.” on the shelf like the empty bottle of cheap booze that it is.

But so much for our favorite caped crusader’s credibility. The Guardian posted a scathing commentary on Ke$ha earlier last weekend which cited this quote from the singer: “I’ve gotten drunk before but never gotten a DUI.”

WHAT?! You mean this is—gasp—all an act?
