Kimberley Locke is taking things to the dance floor with her new jam, “Strobelight.” (Guess having a handful of #1 Billboard club hits off her last LP dictated the direction of her new material.) Last year the Season 2 American Idol alum split from Curb Records, who released her first two studio albums. But, really, who needs a label these days? Kim has now teamed up with Idol judge Randy Jackson to work on her new album, and “Strobelight,” out April 6, is the first offering.

Give it a listen below.

According to Locke’s MySpace, the track was produced by Cutfather and Paparazzi. Last August she confirmed on her MySpace blog that she’s working on her third album with Idol judge Randy Jackson.

“I never thought I would be working with him,” Kim wrote last month. “I must say that we had so much fun and I couldn’t be more excited about this project!”

Meanwhile, the singer is now blogging about American Idol at Us magazine’s site. Just don’t tell Miley Cyrus. “Miley Cyrus as a mentor?” she wrote last week. “Does she know these songs?”

Not sure about that, Kimbereley—but the girl does now how to properly whip her hair extensions around for dramatic effect.
