Jennifer Lopez Covers Selena Covering Donna Summer With “On The Radio”

Jennifer Lopez teamed up with French DJ maestro David Guetta to cover Donna Summer’s “On the Radio.” This, of course, is not the first time J.Lo performed the disco classic—the song was featured in a disco medley in the movie Selena, although J.Lo just lip-synced to Selena’s actual prerecorded vocals. Did Jenny pull off the track with her own voice? Listen below.

We’re not sure if this is a previously unreleased track or if this intended for her brought-back-to-life album Love?, but we think it’s a decent enough electro-tinged cover, although it sounds like it’s missing something—the song could seriously use a pick-me-up drum beat or anything more exciting around the halfway mark. But compared to “Louboutins,” we’re calling this one a winner, and another reason David Guetta should pretty much produce everything.

It’s disappointing that we’re more shocked than anything when something goes Jennifer’s way nowadays—after watching this brief Selena clip, we can’t help but want to go back in time to 1997 to warn the then-promising actress to never, ever agree to embarrass herself by agreeing to star in the mostly unanimously panned The Back-Up Plan. (We would, however, advise her to jump on the Glee bandwagon ASAP.)
