Yes, That Was Britney’s Demo Of “Telephone” After All

Despite denials from Brit fan site World of Britney, the producer of “Telephone,” Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, confirmed that was indeed the pop star’s vocals on the leaked track. So there you go. That song (that somebody paid $750 to hear) had Britney Spears’ voice buried under several thousand layers of Auto-Tune.

“I really don’t know who leaked the version,” Jerkins said via Ustream. “It was an early demo stage of the version. It wasn’t even a mixed version. I would never leak something without Britney’s approval, without Larry Rudolph, without Jive Records.”

World of Britney still stands by the fact that they heard a different, “better” recording of Brit’s take on Lady Gaga’s song. They tweeted about that version, saying, “The beginning of the song was so clear cut and it was clear like Quicksand-very mellow and low key.Demo is different from a completed song.”

Very true. Sadly, we don’t think we’ll ever hear Britney’s mixed recording of the song, so we’ll just have to live with the awesome, Beyonce-featuring version we’ve come to know and love.

Now let’s get back to what’s really important—”Telephone” parody videos.
