M.I.A. may have lost our Single Sleeve Diva-Off last week to Kelly Rowland, but is her new jam “XXXO” itself a winner? Well, whatever decision you arrive at after listening below, just don’t judge the song by its lead-up to the chorus—which basically goes a little something like this: “XXXO, XXXO, XXXO, XXXO, XXXO, XXXO, XXXO, XXXO.” So deep! We dig the music. But for a singer with such a scathing tongue planted in her yap, you’d think M.I.A. could have wracked her brain a bit more for some verbiage.
