We already know that the fashion in the upcoming Lady Gaga-centric episode of Glee is going to be epic (Chris Colfer and Jenna Ushkowitz certainly look more like Gaga than these drawings do), but what about the music? Listen to the cast sing “Bad Romance” and Lea Michele and 15-year-older-doppelganger Idina Menzel duet on “Poker Face” below. Glee, Glee, ooh la la!

As catchy and fun as that song still is (and we can’t wait to see how they recreate the video, which we’re almost certain they will), this recording is way too Auto-Tuned and overproduced for our taste—couldn’t they have put a glee club spin on the track (much like this brilliant group of guys did) instead of just recreating the original?

We have that same complaint for many of the songs performed on the show, that most don’t add anything new to the original track they’re covering. Just imagine what the American Idol judges would say to such a lack of creativity when reinterpreting a song! For now, we’re giving you a “Contestant” t-shirt, Glee, but you still have time to earn an “Artist” shirt in the future!
