Move over sexy 8-year olds, devastated crying boy, and Kurt from Glee—we’ve got our new favorite Single Lady, and it’s Liza Minnelli singing the Beyoncé hit on the Sex and the City 2 soundtrack. This spectacular recording awaits you behind the jump. Go! Listen! Love! Liza!

Liza Minnelli – “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)”

Liza performs this number in the film at the wedding of (spoiler alert!!!) Carrie’s gay BFF Stanford and Charlotte’s gay BFF/wedding planner Anthony. (I know! First they hate each other, now they love each other? It doesn’t make any sense to me!)

We’re assuming that Liza just sings the song instead of doing her own inappropriately sexy dance, which is too bad, because we bet Liza would have killed the “Single Ladies” dance back in her heyday. (Here’s a reminder of how brilliant a dancer she was.)

We just hope Ms. Minnelli at least gets a full scene of dialogue with the girls, since we know what a fantastic comedic actress she can be when given great material:
