Taylor Swift Is A No Show In John Mayer’s “Half Of My Heart” Video

John Mayer has been MIA since ending his Douchey Magazine Interview World Tour, popping up randomly in Jay-Z documentaries and clown pants. But he’s back, playing forlorn in the video for his single “Half of My Heart,” which features “Charlotte” Taylor Swift on the vocals, but not in the vid. Was she too busy picking up awards and touring the country to appear in the clip? Or maybe Team Swift thought it would be a little weird seeing a classy 19-year old (who is pretty much the exact opposite of “sexual napalm”) play the love interest of a 32-year old womanizer?

John Mayer feat. Taylor Swift – “Half of my Heart”

It’s pretty odd to hear another voice chiming in for the chorus and the bridge and not being able to see that person singing on camera. But the real travesty is that this video, off the singer’s album Battle Studies, is pretty snooze-inducing. A guy leaves his bride at the altar and the vid still manages to be drama-free? They could have easily pulled a “Cry Me A River” and had the bride look like any one of Mayer’s famous exes to punch up the art-imitating-life theme.

But hey, at least John looks good in a tux.
