Big Boi And Vonnegutt Want You To Follow Them In Their New Song “Follow Us”

Big Boi is back with another leak from his new album, Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son Of Chico Dusty (due out July 6th). This time the “Shutterbugg” rapper teams up with the band Vonnegutt for “Follow Us” (and, no, the song is not about Twitter). Unlike Big Boi’s previous tracks from Sir Luscious, “Follow Us” doesn’t seem to have the same futuristic vibe. In fact, with the exception of the Vonnegutt chorus, it sounds very reminiscent of old school OutKast. Jump below for a listen and see if you can follow the rhymes Big Boi is throwing.

Like other songs on this album, Big Boi talks about the difficulties in getting his album released (“Been under construction for two years, but now it’s bout that time I double dutch my way in”), fans writing him off because he’s been out away for so long, and he takes some jabs at other unnamed  hip hop artists (“It’s like the game is haunted cause there are so many ghost writers”).

The only part of this track we aren’t feeling is Vonnegutt’s chorus, but perhaps we have wax in our ears this Friday morning. Listen and tell us what you think.
