Last night, Eminem joined his stadium buddy Jay-Z on the roof of the Ed Sullivan Theatre (where David Letterman does his show nightly) for an exclusive performance in front of 100 lucky fans. Although the show was canceled a few days ago due to potential safety concerns—just look at the recent Drake fiasco to see just how out of control an ill-prepared public concert can get—you can’t keep two of music’s biggest rappers down. (In other words, no one says no to Jay-Z).

Em was in full-on performance mood last night—after rockin’ the roof of Late Night, he shot over to the Bowery Ballroom to deliver a few songs (alongside Mr. Porter) to surprised, screaming fans. Watch Em effortlessly spit out Recovery tracks “On Fire” and “Won’t Back Down” below.

Em and Jay’s Beatles homage on top of the Ed Sullivan Theatre will air this Friday on Late Night with David Letterman.
